How to view Rexing dashcam footage on a PC or Mac
Rexing dashcams are affordable and widely sold online. Here is how to watch V1, V5 and S-series footage on a computer, sorted by day and time, front and rear together.
Rexing is a US brand with a wide range of affordable dashcams, from the classic V1 to multi-channel models for rideshare drivers. Rexing offers its own GPS player and a phone app, but many owners just want a quick, clean overview of what is on the card.
How Rexing files are named
Most Rexing cameras run on chipsets that name files after the date and time of recording, for example 2024_0315_143022_F.MP4, with F and R for the front and rear camera. Locked event clips usually sit in a separate event or read-only folder.
Watching Rexing footage with Tripframe
Tripframe reads the date and time from these names and puts every clip on a timeline per day.
- Put the microSD card in your computer.
- Open the app in Chrome or Edge.
- Choose the card.
Front and rear files from the same moment play together. Event clips are labelled based on their folder. If your model uses a naming scheme without a date, Tripframe falls back to the time the file was written.
GPS
Rexing models with a GPS mount often store GPS data in the same way as Viofo. When they do, Tripframe shows the route and speed on a map. If yours does not, the clip still plays without the map.
Why use a browser?
- Nothing to install, so it works on any laptop
- Nothing is uploaded: the files are read on your computer
- Frame-by-frame stepping and PNG stills (
