Your footage stays on your computer
Tripframe is a web page that reads the folder you choose inside your browser. This page lists everything that leaves your computer, and what stays in your browser.
What never happens
- Your videos, photos and file names are never uploaded
- No cookies, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking
- No account and no sign-up
- Nothing on your memory card is changed: Tripframe only reads it
What is loaded from the internet
- The website itself, from Vercel. Like every web host, Vercel keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses, for security.
- Map pictures, only when a clip with GPS is shown on the map: from OpenStreetMap, and from Esri for the satellite and hybrid views. These requests show which part of the map is being looked at.
- Weather and street addresses, only if you switch on “Weather and street addresses” under the map: the location and time of the clip go to Open-Meteo, and the position of a new marker goes to OpenStreetMap. Off unless you switch it on.
What your browser keeps
Some things are saved in your own browser, on this computer only, so the app is faster next time:
- Your settings, such as theme, language, layout and units
- Small preview pictures of clips you have opened
- In Chrome and Edge, the last folder you opened, so it can be reopened with one click
- The markers you add to a route
Clearing the site data for Tripframe in your browser removes all of it.
