How to view 70mai dashcam footage on a PC or Mac

The 70mai app only runs on your phone. Here is how to watch A810, A510, A500S and M500 footage on a computer, with normal, event and parking clips sorted.

70mai is one of the best-selling budget and mid-range dashcam brands, with models like the A810 4K, the A510, the A500S and the tiny M500. Its software story is phone-first: the 70mai app connects over Wi-Fi and there is no official desktop player.

That is a problem when you want to watch a whole trip, compare front and rear, or send a clean still to an insurer.

How 70mai names its files

NO20240315-143022-000123F.mp4

  • NO is the type: NO normal, EV event, PA parking
  • 20240315 is the date
  • 143022 is the time
  • 000123 is a sequence number
  • F or R is the front or rear camera

The files are usually spread over Normal, Event and Parking folders.

Getting the footage onto your computer

Most 70mai cameras use a microSD card: take it out and use a card reader. The M500 stores footage on built-in memory instead. Connect it to your computer with a USB data cable and it appears as a drive, or download the clips through the app first.

Watching it with Tripframe

Tripframe recognises 70mai names.

  1. Open the app in Chrome or Edge.
  2. Choose the card or the folder with your clips.

The three folders are merged into one timeline per day, with event and parking clips labelled so you can filter on them. Front and rear files from the same moment play together. Double-click the small view to swap cameras.

Tips for 70mai owners

  • H.265: the A810 and some other models can record in H.265. If a clip stays black, read how to play H.265 dashcam video.
  • GPS: Tripframe does not read 70mai GPS data yet, so the map stays empty. The video plays normally.
  • Stills: pause, step with , and ., and press S to save the sharpest frame.
