How to view Redtiger dashcam footage on your computer
Redtiger's F7N and other budget 4K dashcams are bestsellers. Here is how to watch the footage on a PC or Mac, front and rear in sync, with the GPS route where available.
Redtiger sells some of the most popular budget 4K dashcams online, the F7N family in particular: a 4K front camera, a 1080p rear camera and Wi-Fi, at a low price. Redtiger offers a phone app for quick access, but a whole trip is much easier to review on a big screen.
How Redtiger files are named
Redtiger cameras name files after the date and time of recording, followed by the camera, for example 2024_0315_143022_F.MP4 and ..._R.MP4. Locked clips go into a separate event folder.
Watching Redtiger footage with Tripframe
Tripframe reads these names.
- Put the microSD card in your computer.
- Open the app in Chrome or Edge.
- Choose the card.
Every clip appears by day and time. The front and rear file of the same moment form one tile and play together: side by side, picture in picture, or one camera at a time. Event clips are labelled.
A 4K front camera deserves frame stepping
With a 4K front camera, a plate is often readable, but only on one or two frames. Pause, step with , and ., and press S to save the sharpest frame as a PNG.
GPS
If your Redtiger has a GPS module and stores its data the Novatek way, Tripframe draws the route and speed on a map. Otherwise the clip plays without the map.
H.265
Some Redtiger models can record in H.265. If a clip stays black, read how to play H.265 dashcam video.
